Apeiron Partners Appoints Additional Managing Director

Apeiron Partners LLC announced today that Christopher U. Missling, PhD, has joined Apeiron as a Managing Director. Apeiron Partners is a Boston-based boutique investment bank focused exclusively on the life sciences

Dr. Missling brings to Apeiron Partners extensive strategic, operational, and financial experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry, in particular in restructuring and refocusing the operations of public biopharmaceutical companies.

Previously Dr. Missling was Chief Financial Officer of ImmunoGen (NASDAQ: IMGN) and Curis (NASDAQ: CRIS). At Curis, Inc., Dr. Missling was instrumental in the turnaround and strategic and operational repositioning of the company. Budgetary discipline coupled with financial modeling enhanced the company’s strategic direction leading to the quintupling of shareholder value within two years.

As Head of Financial Strategic Planning at Aventis and the former Hoechst AG (now Sanofi-Aventis), Dr. Missling was involved in transforming the company into a major pharmaceutical firm through M&A and strategic realignment. He was responsible for financial modeling and integration of the operational planning functions of Hoechst AG and Rhone-Poulenc SA.

Dr. Missling’s experience also includes corporate finance and investment banking at Deutsche Bank. He received his MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, with a focus on partnership valuations in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, and his PhD and MSc in Chemistry from Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, Germany.
